Karate Kid (age 12) is a baseball fan, and this week he’s been reading one of the Cybils nominees in the Middle Grade Fiction category: The Brooklyn Nine: A Novel in Nine Innings by Alan Gratz. When he’s finished, we’ll attempt a joint review. In the meantime, he’s also memorizing the classic baseball poem, Casey at the Bat by Ernest Thayer. Again, when Karate Kid gets it memorized, maybe I’ll try to post a sound file of his rendition here.
