“Let us dare to read, think, speak and write.”
~John Adams, 2nd President of the United States
Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books.
Here’s how it usually works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.
Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.
Thanks to everyone for participating.

Wow! I can’t believe I’m second!
Thanks, Sherry, for hosting SRB. My review this week will show you a side of Dr. Seuss you may not have known about.
I posted on a book I’ve had for 20 years and finally read: ‘Hiroshima,’ by John Hersey. It traces the story of 6 survivors of the atomic bomb.
Thank you for hosting!
Thanks for hosting. What a great quote!
…I can’t believe I am 69th.
I added one more — a review of Wendell Berry’s first “children’s” book.
Happy Valentine’s Day! I posted a review of The Terror by Dan Simmons. That was my first experience with Simmons and it definitely won’t be my last. I am now reading Drood.
The widget isn’t showing up.. Here’s my review of “Holy Smoke: The Big Book of North Carolina Barbecue”

Happy Valentine’s Day!
I posted several reviews this week. I can’t wait to look at some of the others.
Good morning! I finished Edgar Sawtelle yesterday, and that capped 2 weeks of some of the most pleasurable reading I’ve had. I know readers are divided on this one, but I loved it. (Hamlet is my favorite of Shakespeare’s plays–probably not a coincidence.)
Okay sorry again, not sure how the smiley face is showing up. They seem to show up when I use the lap top.
Just wanted you to know that this entry wasn’t tagged as Saturday Reviews, so it didn’t show up on the cat=29 url. That’s why I’m so late posting – I kept checking again and again yesterday; it didn’t occur to me (stupidly) to check the other entries in case it hadn’t been tagged! 🙂
Thanks, Melydia. Sometimes I forget to tag my posts.
