Well, it’s already been a long week here at Semicolon Family Home in Major Suburbia. On Saturday I had to abort my participation in Mother Reader 48 Hour Book Challenge at about the 28 hour mark because of a minor kerfuffle which didn’t feel minor at the time. Bluntly, I had an argument with one of the urchins. It was a full-blown altercation, hormones were flying, and no one wanted or felt the need to apologize. (I’m telling about this here just in case anyone got the idea that all we ever do here in Semicolon Country is sit around and read books and discuss their literary merits. I wish.)
Then, on Sunday, I had to take one of the urchins to the Emergency Room. She’s having seizures, and no one really knows why or what to do. The test results were confusing, to say the least, and we’re all bamboozled, bumfuzzled, and concerned. She’s home, taking medications, and we’re hoping to be able to figure what’s wrong and how to fix it.
Then, while I was at the hospital on Monday, my blog went crazy and started showing a lot of code instead of the content. So, Computer Guru Son switched it back to an old (blah) template, and I reinstalled the sitemeter. And my hits went down to next to nothing. Right now the sitemeter is showing that hardly anyone is stopping by, but since I’m not providing much content, I guess that’s OK.
If you all are out there, please pray for us. And leave a comment. It would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and tomorrow is Poetry Friday, and I think I’m the hostess. Come back tomorrow and link to a poetry post at your blog, and we’ll see if the sitemeter goes bonkers or not.
Oops, Poetry Friday this week is hosted at A Wrung Sponge. Next Friday, June 20th, come to Semicolon to link to your Poetry Friday posts.
I hope you find out what’s wrong with your daughter soon. Lots of luck and love is being send your way.
I’ll be praying for you and your family. Sure does seem like a lot happens at once sometimes, doesn’t it?
Praying for all of you! And I stop by your site several times a day. But this week, while computer-genius husband is in Texas, my computer decided not to work. So I can read my blog and most others, but can’t comment or post to my blog because I can’t get his computer to allow me that kind of access.
My blog traffic has been slow last week and this week and I thought maybe it’s because it’s summer and people are doing other things. I’m seriously considering taking an extended break from all blogging and blog-visiting and email for a while. It’s so nice to be untethered….
I hope you get a diagnosis for your daughter soon!
I’m reading your blog!
I’m reading. And praying for you and your family.
I hope you can get a diagnosis for your daughter. I know that seizures can be so frightening.
Sherry, I’m always here, whether I comment or not. And yes, I will be praying hard for your daughter and for wisdom for her doctor(s). (Hugs)
I hope your daughter gets the diagnosis and treatment she needs soon. It’s never easy when one of the kids is sick in any way — when thuings are up in the air, that adds to the stress.
I’m praying for you, too. Yes, family life is designed to make us depend on God, that is for certain. I live with two men so I can’t blame it on their hormones. Guys are just different.
You know, the 78 readers who read you on Bloglines don’t show up on your counter unless we click over and you can “see” us. 🙂
Thanks everybody.
Brenda, I know about the bloglines thing, but my stats have gone from about 600 visitors a day last week to 102 at 7 PM today. Something’s whacked out.
Count me in the prayer circle. Hang in there.
I read your blog posts via google reader. So I kind of keep abreast.
I sincerely pray that your daughter is better.
Prayers for all of you – espec on getting the right knowledge and treatment for your daughter’s seizures. Our youngest did that once (just fever driven – relatively common, we were told, in boys under 6 with a sudden temp spike) – we freaked and called 911. Scary stuff. So we will indeed be praying for you.
I’m reading every day. Hope everyone gets better soon.
thinking and praying (and reading) for you, too.

I read your blog daily, but I’ve never commented. I will pray for your daughter. A two friends of my son’s, 7 and 8 year olds, also have unexplained seizures that they can’t seem to treat. It’s so frightening, both for them and their parents. We will pray for you when we pray for them.
I love your blog! It’s like having a fabulous librarian nearby, which is great because my local branch, well . . . doesn’t.
Thinking of you and your family, Sherry.
Sherry:
We’ve actually been through a lot of the tests you’ll be going through shortly. MRI/2 EEGS/Opthamologist. Feel free to send me an e-mail if you have any questions. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! Your house sounds a lot like mine lately, for better or worse.
Also, if you need me to cover your PF hosting, please let me know.
I’m keeping you and your family in my thoughts!
I’m so sorry this is all happening at once!
Hugs and prayers!
