God be thanked for books. They are the voices of the distant and the dead, and make us heirs of the spiritual life of past ages.”
William E. Channing
Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books. Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.
Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.
Thanks to everyone for reviewing, blogging, and linking.
Saturday Reviews: Alphabetical by Title. (an unfinished list)
Don’t forget to join in on the Saturday Review of Books Reading Challenge.
Not really a book I loved, but I’m out of other readings because of school requirements. I’m just now discovering that the only way to read what I want is to just graduate!
I’ve posted my two favorite reviews from this week.
I always look forward to reading all the links and finding treasures!
Another Newbery winner for me, this one from 1971. I liked it a lot, even if it did make me feel old.
So my post this week is actually about a contest that I’m holding. I read Undercover by Beth Kephart a few months ago and loved it so much that I’m giving away a free copy this month! (My post also links to my review). It’s a great book for middle school or high school girls who are in that in-between stage and haven’t found themselves yet.
