I look at [books] as a child looks at cakes – with glittering eyes and a watering mouth, imagining the pleasure that awaits him.”
Mrs. Gaskell
Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books. Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.
Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

Thanks to everyone for reviewing, blogging, and linking.
Saturday Reviews: Alphabetical by Title. (an unfinished list)
Don’t forget to join in on the Saturday Review of Books Reading Challenge.
Noel Perrin and Lois Lowry for me – radically different, but both great writers!
I actually read through “What Would Barbra Do?” twice before returning it to the library. It’s a fantastic book if you like musicals.
Sorry, Sherry! I forgot to put the book title. I’m not sure how to fix that.
Thank you for fixing that for me!
I read all six books for Saturday Review Challenge!
I’ve only got as far as my third book for the challenge, I need to get moving! That Miss Spitfire book sounds like a fascinating read.
Thank you for offering this great service! This is my first time to add a book review, but I will be doing it more often!
Off to read some reviews, now!
Thirteen Reasons Why is a great book for teens, parents, and teachers. It’ll make you reevaluate your relationships with friends and even casual acquaintances.
Oh man, did I love “Bud, Not Buddy”. Now I want to read everything by Christopher Paul Curtis.
This reading all the Newbery winners has brought some really amazing children’s and YA books to me. I doubt I would have run across Curtis otherwise. I wish he would write an adult book. 🙂
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy coming here on Saturdays and reading all the reviews!
