A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face…. It is one of the few havens remaining where a man’s mind can get both provocation and privacy.”
Edward P. Morgan
Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books. Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.
Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

Thanks to everyone for reviewing, blogging, and linking.
Saturday Reviews: Alphabetical by Title. (an unfinished list)
Don’t forget to join in on the Saturday Review of Books Reading Challenge.
I’m happy I can take part this week with not one but two reviews!Well, I posted Chocolat last friday, but it counts for me cause I didn’t post it last week:P
Sorry I meant last Saturday (it’s too early in the morning now…)
I reviewed Gooseberry Park by Cynthia Rylant. Thanks, Sherry! 🙂
Thanks, Sherry, for hosting SRB. It’s a great resource, one I’ve benefited from many times.
Sherry, I’ve been meaning to comment on your quotes. They are such a delight and not books quotes I’m used to reading in the book quote books. Do you glean these from your reading?
I often copy them down in my commonplace book.
Thanks, again.
Whoops – I meant to write Gifted for the title of my second review – not Gift. *frowns*
I keep all my books news and reviews together in one category. The 2nd Mr. Linky listing will take you there. I’ve recently reviewed children’s books including “The Conversation Club” and “The Seeing Stick” and Christian readings “Simple Faith” and “Becoming a Woman of Prayer.”
I didn’t do the link correctly since it doesn’t reflect the name of the book reviewed (An Ocean of Air by Gabrielle Walker). And then I forgot to do the reCaptcha thing. So we’re doing this again….
I finally read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

It’s great to see so many reviews! I remember when you started with just a trickle.
Since I’ve started writing more than ever, I read so much less than I used to. Checking out the Saturday Review archives, however, gets my juices flowing again…
