Saturday Review of Books: August 18, 2007

A reader finds little in a book save what he puts there. But in a great book he finds space to put many things.”
Joseph Joubert

Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books. Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.

Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

  1. I am a first time participant. I found your blog through Brenda’s “Coffee, Tea, Books and Me” blog.

  4. Sorry I accidentally linked to last weeks review first.

Thanks for doing this. I have seen a couple of things on this weeks review that I want to check out, and had the chance to fondly remember some old friends.

  5. My pick for this week is Undercover and book about a teenage girl who is finding herself. The writing is amazing. The lyrical quality really captures a lonely girl who is on the brink of womanhood. It doesn’t come out until late September but it’s definitely worth checking out when it’s released.
    Happy Reading!

  6. I have you to thank for the wonderful recommendation of Enchantment! I enjoyed that book soooooo much!!!
