For a good writer, there is only one measure of success, and that is found in his honoring the complexity and richness of his subject while telling his story in a lucid way.

Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books. Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.
Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

Thanks to everyone for reviewing, blogging, and linking.
Saturday Reviews: Alphabetical by Title. (an unfinished list)
Just found your blog and am very excited about your book list. You’ve included many of my favorites, which bodes well for me as there are many titles I’ve not yet read, and I am always hungry for new books.
Thank you.
Suzanne
Sorry for the double link there- I forgot to include the title of the book I reviewed in the first one.
I really appreciate this weekly wiki- thanks!
I just added a link to a review of three books, The Chimney Sweeper’s Boy, Monday Mourning, and The Echo Maker.
I love this Saturday list, and I love your book reviews!
The book I reviewed isn’t exactly fiction, but it’s an interesting look at how to read it. Thanks for providing this!
Island of the Blue Dolphins , by Scott O’Dell was the Newbery winner in 1961 – historical fiction for older kids, about a Native girl (in the mid 1800’s), who lives by herself on a deserted island off the coast of California. Recommended if you like nature books – the details about otters, gulls, etc. are very good.
I just submitted three books I have read recently and linked here. I had such problems for a few weeks with Blogger that I was unable to publish all that I wanted and could not participate with this for a little while. Glad Blogger is working again for me now.
Thank you for this weekly review – I love to read through as many as I can – VERY INFORMATIVE!!!
