I’ve decided to take a break from the blog for the next forty days, coincidentally (or not) the time of the Christian observance of Lent. I’ve been blogging without a hiatus since October 2003, and I plan to continue blogging. I just feel that this break would be a good time of rest and reevaluation for me and for my family. I’ll tell you how it went.
I will continue to post the Saturday Review of Books each week, but I won’t be able to read your reviews until after I get back in April. I also have a few posts (or re-posts) set up to come online on certain dates while I’m gone. However, I won’t be around to monitor comments, so I’ll have to turn those off.
I’d love to come back in April to read all your wonderful discussion and comments on Semicolon while I’ve been gone, but if I did that, the blog would be full of SPAM. So, sayonara, see you the other side of Resurrection Sunday.

Enjoy your break! I’ll be looking forward to seeing you again after Easter.
Have a blessed Easter – you will be missed!
Good for you, Sherry. May the Lord bless you as you sacrifice for Him.
Good thought. I may follow your example.
Giving up blogging for Lent? Yikes that’s convicting!
May your break from blogging be filled with blessings and peace.
I am strongly inclined to join you. Blessings during your break.
