Easter Music

We listen to these songs on Resurrection Morning:

Handel’s Messiah

He’s Alive by Don Francisco

Easter Song by Keith Green

Hear the bells ringing
They’re singing that you can be born again
Hear the bells ringing
They’re singing Christ is risen from the dead

The angel up on the tombstone
Said He has risen, just as He said
Quickly now, go tell his disciples
That Jesus Christ is no longer dead

Joy to the word, He has risen, hallelujah
He’s risen, hallelujah
He’s risen, hallelujah.

Rise Again by Dallas Holm

  1. The song with which we opened this morning’s worship service was a bold, stirring piece. “The Tomb Stands Open Wide.”

“He is victor o’er the grave. He conquered death and made it slave . . .” I loved it.

  2. I listen to Auferstehungshistorie (Resurrection History) by Heinrich Schuetz (Dresden Kreuzchor). To my knowledge, the only biblical narrative of the resurrection side in contrast to the St John and the St Matthew Passions by Bach.
