Thanks to World Magazine’s blog for the link to this Wall Street Journal article on the history of the Thanksgiving hymn.
We’ve been singing this hymn all month and plan to present it to Engineer Husband and to the Lord as a family choir on Thanksgiving Day.
Hi Sherry,
I’m new to blogging so forgive me for posting here but I didn’t know where else to send an unrelated question to you. Nice site. I stumbled upon it from Brandywine. I’m launching a book club comprised of mostly Christian women. We want to read all genres but would prefer to not have to deal with horrendous language and explicit sex scenes. My question is: Would Kite Runner fall in that category? It sounds like a good start for us but I am unsure about the content. We want to read some classics, current titles, biographical, historical, Christian, etc.–all types. I saw your top 100 fiction list–a great help. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you in advance for any input you may offer. sdenboer@comcast.net.
