“I always begin at the left with the opening word of the sentence and read towards the right and I recommend this method.”
~James Thurber
Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books, the Hooray for October edition.
Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.
Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

Hi Sherry – I’ve just added my October review of “Peculiar Chris” by Johann S. Lee, a Singaporean author. I think I didn’t do it right though as my book title doesn’t appear? Sorry about that.
Hello! I found your blog through the 10 Day Give. What a great place you have here! There is SO much here. I can’t wait to sit down a little bit more and read more. I have two teenage princesses and I’m always looking for good books for them to read. I’m so glad I clicked over here.
Have a beautiful weekend.
Sherry – this is not apropos this post. I just can’t find your email address. Please email me at megamommy12atgmaildotcom

Another Saturday with interesting books, some I have read, some I haven’t.
I really like this round-up! I’ve contributed “Life as We Knew It” by Susan Beth Pfeffer.
I’m back! It took me three weeks, but I finally finished Crime and Punishment! It was well worth re-reading this book that I didn’t (couldn’t?) appreciate when I read it in HS.
Sherry, I added to my post a few of the movie and book titles Jane Brocket lists in her book, The Gentle Art of Domesticity.
I always forget to put the title along with my blog name. I’ll learn someday.
I hope I added my reviews correctly! 🙂
Fantastic site, and fantastic idea bringing together all the different reviews. Thanks much. My contribution is “Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg,” a book I read with my daughter recently.
Take care.
