“Malnutrition of the reading faculty is a serious thing.”
~Christopher Morley in The Haunted Bookshop
Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books, the financial crisis edition.
Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.
Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

Oops, i forgot to put in my book title on my first review: “Flabbergasted.” Live and learn, right? Thanks for letting me join you. 🙂
Another nice Saturday listing.
If I missed last week, is it alright to link to an older post?
I’m glad I found this, it’s very handy. And I like your blog.
Re your question about Pauline Gedge: The best is probably House of Dreams. There is a continuation of the story in House of Illusions but
House of Dreams was the better of the two in our opinion and is quite satisfying to read alone. The trilogy called The Lord of the Two Lands is very good also. It consists of The Hippopotamus Marsh,The Oasis, and The Horus Road, in that order. I’m so glad you asked, I’m sure you will enjoy them.
What a great idea! Thanks for hosting this!
