“Any kid who has parents who are interested in him and has a houseful of books isn’t poor.”
~Sam Levenson
Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books, the after-Ike edition.
Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.
Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

Great quote and picture! Thanks for hosting
I FINALLY finished Dominion by Randy Alcorn. : )
Yes — I especially like the quote and picture today, too.
Love that pic!
My autofill went crazy – sorry about that. Can you remove my superfluous Magic or Madness links? I think they actually link to other books, and I don’t know why it kept changing my title on me! Duh. :-p
What a great idea! I look forward to perusing the books on this list.
That is definitely one true quote!
There are some great books, listed!
I love that pic, and have taken several of my boys sleeping with books. I have more Hamlet-related goodness this week with Lin Enger’s Undiscovered Country, set in modern-day northern MN. And a dark but entertaining mystery graphic novel by Eddie Campbell. I just started Crime and Punishment, so you may not hear from me for a while!
Thank you for publishing the Saturday review of books.
This week I blogged about:
Vibes, a new fiction book for grade 7 and up (per publisher) about a high school girl who thinks she can read people’s minds.
A funny nonfiction self-help book, using reverse psychology, published in USA in 2008 called How to be a Complete and Utter Failure in Life, Work & Everything.
A book published this month for parents and teachers about Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome by Temple Grandin PhD called The Way I See It.
