“Books are the compasses and telescopes and sextants and charts which other men have prepared to help us navigate the dangerous seas of human life.”
~Jessie Lee Bennett
Welcome to this week’s Saturday Review of Books, the Hurricane Ike edition.
Here’s how it works. Find a review on your blog posted sometime this week of a book you’re reading or a book you’ve read. The review doesn’t have to be a formal sort of thing. You can just write your thoughts on a particular book, a few ideas inspired by reading the book, your evaluation, quotations, whatever.
Now post a link here to the specific post where you’ve written your book review. Don’t link to your main blog page because this kind of link makes it hard to find the book review, especially when people drop in later after you’ve added new content to your blog. In parentheses after your name, add the title of the book you’re reviewing. This addition will help people to find the reviews they’re most interested in reading.

Keep safe during the hurricane and I hope it passes without doing too much damage. thinking of you. thanks also for hosting the reviews, I’ve missed it the weeks I have been away.
39 Clues is hot off the press and promises to excite students as much as Harry Potter. Looking forward to following it’s success.
I was away last week in SC, outside of Columbia, and am happy to be home in MN, and thinking calm thoughts for those near the hurricane(s). I continue on my Hamlet related binge, with graphic novels thrown in for contrast.
My thoughts to all of those in the pathe of the hurricane/s.
This looks like a nice list, so far.
What a nice website!
I’m not sure why but every time I post to Mr. Linky here and elsewhere, I have a smiley face after my link. Is it something that I need to check with the Mr. Linky blog? Or anything you might know what I’m doing wrong? If I’m doing anything wrong, that is, and it’s not a glitch?
Unfinished: I think you’re the onlyone who can see the smiley face onyour link, and if you click on it you can edit or delete your link if you made a mistake. So you’re not doing anything wrong.
